Daily Practice:

Prayer (5 minutes):  Thank God for his Gospel, and for making it simple enough that we can understand it. Pray for an open heart and mind to apply the scriptures. Yield your workday, your relationships, and your pride to His Spirit. Pray for one person in your life who needs the power of the Gospel.

Scripture (5 minutes): Read the passage below. Take your time. What is the phrase that resonates with you the most?

John 1:29-34 (ESV)
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, because he was before me.’

I myself did not know him, but for this purpose I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel.” And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him. I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ’he on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

And I have seen and borne witness that this is the Son of God.”

Meditation (5 minutes): Meditate on the line below. Repeat it 3x out loud.

“Behold, the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!…And I have seen and borne witness that this is the Son of God.”

Jesus is unequivocally and unapologetically the Son of God who came to take our sins, and bury them under his perfect blood. He came, lived the perfect life we are incapable of living, and died a disgraceful death all to save us from our own sins and failures.

In today’s society of political correctness and inclusion, it can be easy to forget that there are certain truths that are concrete, absolute, and infallible. This is one of those truths.

Jesus came to die for you. He loves you. You’re chosen, loved, and appreciated by the God of the universe. Don’t let any circumstance around you distract from this truth. Instead, bear witness today that Jesus is the Son of God.

Love you all! See you tomorrow!
